Where Did ALLAH Come From?

The question “WHERE DID ALLAH COME FROM?” is no doubt a question that commonly comes into the minds of non-Muslims. And when a Muslim have someone asking for right answer from a Muslims perspective, then here is one.

Muslim believe, as it being communicated to us, our God; Allah in His book The Quran, tells us that He is the creator of everything and that he is the sustainer, as well as the maintainer of all that exists and that nothing and no one shares this trait along with Him.

"[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing." (QS. 42:11)

He tells us that He is not created, nor is he like his creation in anyway. By definition, Allah has no creator, otherwise He would not be God. He'd be a creation and then we'd have to seek another God who is definitely higher than Him.

"He is God, [Who is] One.
God, the Eternal Refuge.
He neither begets nor is born,
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
(QS. 112:1-4)

Without going too sci-fi here, understand that Allah Himself created the concept of time. He created the concept of "a beginning and an end",  and once creating this concept of time etc, everything He created, He assigned it as "a beginning and an end".

Because we are His creation and we see everything bound by time, we automatically assume this rule must apply to Allah Himself too but that is not true as He is not like His creation, nor similar to it, in any way one might have thought about Him.

Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted. (QS. 6:103)

If we do not agree and pacify ourselves with the above answer, we'd end up in an endless loop of "who created who?" and then "who created the creator?" etc, and so fourth. There would be no ending!

Allah's Messenger (Shallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
"Do not think of Allah, but think of His creation ..." (Shaheeh Ahmad and Ath-Thabarani).

There is no way to know Him by defining "what" He is; rather, one can get to know the proofs of His Existence, Might, Knowledge, Will, Wisdom, Mercy and His being the Creator of everything.

"Do not think about Allah," said Imam `Ali - one of Prophet Muhammad closest companion (peace be upon them) - "rather, think about what Allah has created, for thinking about Allah only increases one's bewilderment."

Instead, we're kindly advised to be good to our fellow mankind, especially to our parents and the weaker ones in society. Hopefully we may please Allah and thus one day reach heaven by His will.

Once there, you're free to pose this question to Him directly.
